I have always been interested in helping people for as long as I can remember. I love teaching people on how to be present in their bodies and tap into their inner strength and abilities. I started in the fitness industry in 1994 and as a personal trainer I found the stronger I got the less flexible I became. I was teaching 10 classes a week and I found myself constantly sore and dealing with chronic pain. I began studying yoga for flexibility and pilates for rehabilitation and decided to get certified in both modalities to help myself and my clients get out of pain. A friend of mine, Barbara Lawrence, a certified MELT instructor, introduced me to MELT in 2013 and I was amazed with how I felt after one session. I googled MELT and found classes at Pilates Heights in San Francisco and proceeded to take two MELT workshops with Elizabeth Walker and I was hooked. In January 2015 I completed MELT's Hand and Foot Instructor Training and I just completed MELT's level one training in July and I am trained by the creator Sue Hitzmann. I now consider myself a MELT ambassador and want to share this method with as many people as I can. My Partner, and students have started calling me "Mr. MELT" which I take as a huge compliment. Since I have learned the MELT Method I feel stronger and more grounded than I have felt in my 20+ years in the fitness industry. I love seeing my client's bodies change after one session. MELT has changed my life. I feel like I am my true self when I am teaching MELT. The most important aspect I teach my students is that MELT is a hands off self-care treatment that they can do on their own.
